Date: Friday, September 11th

Time: 12:00 - 14:30

Venue: Jaspers Community Café, Rochester, Kent, ME1 1EW*

We're excited to invite everyone to the upcoming FASD Awareness Month Neuro Café on Friday, 11th September! This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), their families, and supporters to come together, share stories, and enjoy some casual conversations in a warm and welcoming environment.

As September is FASD Awareness Month, it’s the perfect time to spread the word about FASD and the importance of understanding the impact of alcohol consumption during pregnancy. To make our gathering even more special, we’d love for you to join in the fun by wearing red and rocking your favourite red shoes! The Red Shoes Rock Campaign encourages everyone to wear red shoes throughout the month to raise awareness and show support for those affected by FASD. Together, we can advocate for more resources and understanding of their challenges.

We can't wait to see you there in your vibrant red attire!

A Community-Focused Gathering with Purpose

Held monthly at Jaspers Community Café in Rochester, Kent, the Neuro Café is designed to tackle the real-world challenges faced by individuals living with FASD and their supporters. Attendees can discuss a variety of relevant topics, including:

  • FASD diagnosis and strategies

  • Education, EHCPs, and school support

  • Sleep, medication, and sensory challenges

  • Wellbeing, socializing, and self-care

  • Benefits, finances, and family life

  • Relationships, safeguarding, and capacity issues

The environment is relaxed and welcoming, offering coffee, cake, and meaningful conversations to help participants feel heard, understood, and empowered.

Why the Neuro Café Matters

Living with FASD can often feel isolating due to the condition's hidden nature and the lack of widespread awareness and understanding. The Neuro Café bridges this gap by:

✔ Providing friendly peer support in person

✔ Offering advice from those with lived experience

✔ Connecting families, carers, and professionals

✔ Creating a supportive community where everyone belongs.

By fostering conversations about diagnosis, strategies, and everyday life, the group helps reduce isolation and builds confidence in navigating FASD-related challenges.
