FASD Awareness Month has arrived, a crucial time to amplify voices of advocacy and lived experience. At the helm of this movement is Maggie May, one of the world’s leading Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) advocates and a dedicated Ambassador for FASD Awareness UK. We’re immensely proud to have her on our team. Her authenticity, resilience, and insights make her a true inspiration for those living with FASD and the professionals who support them.

Who Is Maggie May?

Maggie is a young adult diagnosed with FASD. She openly shares her journey—from childhood challenges to the empowerment she’s built today. As an international speaker, moderator, and mentor, she brings education to life through lived experience FASD Awareness.

Her roles include:

  • Ambassador for FASD Awareness UK

  • Red Shoes Rock Ireland Ambassador

  • Member of the International Adult Leadership Collaborative of FASD Changemakers.

Her practical strategies—like using a whiteboard as a memory tool—are simple yet profound reminders that modest adaptations can lead to meaningful gains for people with FASD.
